The Alamo is the number one most visited place in all of Texas!
So we visited it while Grandpa was here for the monster truck show.
(It was a boys only event so there are no pics of it. )
"Remember the Alamo!"
I remember the Alamo from when we visited it in 2005. I remember it being a very boring place to visit. Basically an old empty building. It is still an old and mostly empty building.
Why is "Remember the Alamo!" the famous saying? Not because it was a stunning victory but because it was a stunning defeat, everyone died. How sad. All the Alamo boys stood their ground against the mexicans and were slaughtered. "Remember the Alamo" became the battle cry for the men who eventually defeated Mexico and took back Texas. Today's equivalent would be yelling "remember 9/11" before running into battle in Afghanistan.
It is also sad to be in jail as you see.
In other news, I read Jack 100 books and he wrote all the titles on his chain. The reading the books was easy, getting him to write them all down was the hard part.
Tessa continues to be the center of attention and the most lovely baby in the world.
I finally caught her lip-tucked-in pose on camera. She does it all the time but it is very elusive when being hunted for posterity.
The boys are still boys...
biker boys.
And funny boys.
We are getting ready to move again. San Antonio has been very good to us and we hate to go. In primary they sang good-bye to us. (we team teach the 8 year olds) and the primary pres was telling the children that we were moving to Del Rio "but they will still be in Texas." Phew! good thing she didn't alarm the children. Texans can't imagine the horror of moving out of Texas!Del Rio, here we come...
