Chasie

I found this pic on my sister Tracy's computer. It is from February of this year.
My Chase has grown up so much in these last 6 months!
He still cries but not nearly as much. He talks (momma! peeze, jack, dada, cereal, bar, gramma, and lots of no, no no) and he has the sweetest little run. I love my Chasie!

Just a little older...

My grandma just turned 90.
It feels a little anti-climactic to me really. About a year ago my mom started saying things like, "She's almost 90" to people in the ward, or "My mom is about to turn 90." Also the occasional, "She'll be 90 this summer."
Then in the last few months people have stepped it up with comments like:
"Grandma is 90, can you believe that?" and "Wow, grandma is in her 90's"
Now, I know that little kids always want to be the year older. When they are 6 years and a month they say "I'm 6 and a half". 4 months before their birthday they say, "I'm almost 7!" etc. I thought we all got over this as we got older but apparently it just dies way down in middle age and then comes back with a vengeance around 90!
The best part is that as I was painting my Grandma's nails yesterday, July 29th, her actual 90th birthday she made the comment, "These nails of mine do funny things, I guess it's because they are almost 91 years old."
Bah Ha Ha!!

We had fun for the 24th!
We didn't plan it but the best things turn up on their own right?
Me and my Chasie!

Chase giving the slip n slide a try!!

Our wounds!
This is what i get when I try to keep up with my big brother on the triple slip n slide.

Finally, a pic of me with my boys, I'm usually behind the camera.
Thanks Stacy!

I was reading Noah's Ark to my boys today.

As we turned the pages I had Jack saying all the names. He was doing great, "2 hippos, 2 elephants, 2 turtles, 2 giraffes, 2 kung fu pandas, 2 tigers..." I started laughing and my mom heard from the other room,
"They have kung fu panda's in the ark, Jack?"

Yesterday during the sacrament Jack was a big responsible boy and took the sacrament from the young man all by himself. Then he let me know how good he had done: "Mom, I got 2 pieces!"
Loud enough for people several rows in any direction to hear.

Dear Far-Away Pilot Husband:

Thank you for sending me beautiful flowers from Afghanland. I love answering the door, on a regular day, thinking it is going to be a regular interchange and then...WOW... it isn't normal at all! It's some stranger giving me a gift! Awesome feeling. I really appreciate that you try to make things better, even though you are across the world .

I was thinking about it though.

When things go seriously bad, what a girl really needs is not something to smell, but something to TASTE!Kneaders make and delivers amazing gift baskets so....

just for next time :)

I love you,

Sandra

Discovery Gateway

Ever since I heard about the Discovery Gateway 'kids spot' (as we call it) I have been dying to go so Mom was gracious enough to go with me and we took Dallin and Shelby along for the fun. It is really the coolest place for kids. We played there for 2 hours and didn't want to leave! Here is chase getting blown by the wind, look at that face and hair! The wind blew the balls through these tubes all over the place.

"Where did it go?"

The water exhibit was another awesome one, and surprisingly they didn't get that wet...must be the good design of the place. I love that they both have their hands in the pipes in this pic. They were waiting for the balls to float down that they had just put in.

Beep, beep, beep...that will be $200. They loved the store!

Chase was impatient for his turn on the horse.

I loved hearing his litle voice amplified over the speakers. "Ahhh! Oooh!"

Summer Fun

"Hey, whats going on in there?"
I remember swimming in my kiddy pool growning up. The water was freezing, it got all grassy, sometimes the sides would collapse, some body would slip and fall, hitting themself on a near by toy, etc. but it was still so much fun! And now that's exactly how it is for my boys:

I Love this picture of all the kids working together to help Dallin with his logrolling-walk.
