Orem Summerfest
I rollerbladed Jack in the stroller over to the parade. The two of us found a comfy little spot on the grass. When the 16 police motorcycles all went sreaming by on their motorcycles to start the parade their sirens were blaring so I covered his ears. From then on he decided to cover his ears at every sound!
I told him he didn't have to but he clamped his little hands over his ears for the bands, the ambulances, the dancers etc.
At least he uncovered his ears to pick up lots of candy! He loved it.
Just as we started home the heavy clouds rolled in and we got rained on. The foothills were so green, white capped mountains shrouded in the dark clouds rolling in. Cool crisp air. I love Utah in the summer, I love summerfest. What a great evening with my Jack!

Backseat Driver!
I'm sitting at a red light and I hear from behind: "Go Mommy! Go, Go!"
"I can't go Jack it is a red light, see?"
The light turns green and instantly: "Go, Go, Green light mommy go!" Of course it doesn't matter to him that there are 20 cars in front of me that need to get going before I can. "Go, Go GO!" This happens at like every light.
And this is just a sampling! I also get the "Go Mommy!!" when waiting to turn left, slowing for traffic, going around corners, looking for an address etc. If we aren't going at least 45 MPH it just isn't fast enough for him! "Go! Mommy, FAster!"
I don't even want to start on the "Go this way mommy, no.. this way, THIS WAY!!" when I don't turn the direction he fancies, how he asks me where we are going about 15 times for every little trip and reminds me if I make any type of deviation.
I end up doing a lot of explaining about waiting for turn arrows, right of way, speed limits, cops etc. What's it going to be like when he is 15? I'm concerned.

You know its bad when...
The squadron calls your husband on a thurday to ask him to go to Kuwait on monday.
You have to cut the vacation you are on short so your husband can pack and get shots for deploying.
Your husband leaves and you spend that whole first night throwing up from the stomach flu.
You go to your sisters house and your baby and her baby keep each other up from naps by crying back and forth through the wall.
But I really know it is bad when my husband tells me he is deploying and I think, "Oh? no biggie, i can be packed and out of the house in a day." Then Day dreaming: Nice weather, sunday family dinners, cafe rio, the 'good' nursery, cousins for my kids, walks up the canyon, mom to babysit, sisters to hang with every day, a funny brother to tease me...Utah, here we come!

Is it Illegal..
Is it Illegal to write your husbands papers for him? I mean, it is only an online masters degree course so it can't really be illegal could it? I spent all evening last night and most of naptime today "going over" his paper and "editing" it. The crazy thing is that in some wierd way I actually enjoyed it. It reminded me of being in college and lets face it, I love taking something that is only mediocre and making it way better. I'm such a fixer. Like at BYU when Luke Dean showed me his class schedule that was all over the place. I convinced him to give me his ID and let me register him, way better. It was awesome, I love control! ha ha
On another note, I have an awesome husband. Between the RS activities, girl get-togethers, and many chiropractor apointments I have been going to lately he has been watching the boys tons. They love the mac and cheese dinners, 'helping' him in the garage and especially building forts in the living room:
What a good daddy, I am so glad I have him. My friend and I were talking about marrying each others husbands (weird, but sometimes those conversations can't be helped) She said there was no way I would be able to marry her husband, which is totally true. I said, "Well, you couldn't marry Quinn" to which she replied, "Yeah, I could marry Quinn...he doesn't get under your skin like my husband does or having anything really hard to live with."
So true! I'm such a lucky girl, love you Kwin!

Father and Son
Jack went to his first Fathers and Sons camp-out last night (Quinn was gone last year for what would have been his first). I was not worried about him liking it as we went on a 2 mile hike on monday and he hiked the whole way! What a little outdoorsman we have on our hands, we love him.
Carrying his mini camp chair to the spot.
So excited to be in a tent with Daddy!

Best Anniversary Ever
That was us then...
And this is us now!

And this is us now!It has been five great and crazy years!
We spent 2 amazing nights and days in Sedona AZ.
We Jeeped,
We hiked,
We ate the most amazing meals,
We visited the hokey vortexes (vortex stuff is huge in Sedona)
And had the best anniversary ever!
Our Jeep was awesome, we are so proud of it.
It is pictured above, can you find the hiding jeep?

A pink jeep is blaspheme to Quinn but the Pink jeep tours are the big thing in Sedona. He was feeling way bad for our jeep (above) when it was surrounded by the pink jeeps.

Happy Birthday!
Our sweet Jack-Jack boy is 3 years old! We were really excited about his birthday this year because we knew he would finally really understand it and enjoy having it be his special day.
We were in Mesa so we went with Grandma and Grandpa to the airplane museum.
Jack is a real airplane lover!
Do you like the plane we bought him?
Ha ha, we wish!
His eyes were glued to the airplanes landing at the adjacent airport. He likes to tell us weather an airplane looks like grandpa's airplane or Daddy's airplane.
