He really is there

Quinn hasn't been able to send any pictures of himself home this deployment because of the tightened computer security...but his squadron was in the AF news for flying the 20,000 hour of combat while they have been deployed continuously for the last 5 years. Quinn was the pilot that few the famous flight so he was pictured in the article. here are the the pics

crew and maintainance people
Just the air crew

My capt, boarding the plane, isn't he hansome?

The article talks about how the guys have to get deployed like 3, 4 even 5 times (that will be quinn this fall) and yet they "still have a smile on their faces." Just so you know, its a lie. Everyone is totally over worked, lots of marriages are falling apart etc. They are severly undermanned and have been for the last 5 years and yet the Air Force doen't send new people. Thats the military for ya.

One of the best parts..

One of the best parts about being a mother...

Getting both kids down for naps at the same time so I can have a nap!

I love naps!

Occasionally my biggest goal for the day is getting them both to bed so I can snuggle in for some shut eye...maybe that seems sad for a biggest goal. Oh well, I love naps!

Powder to the people

Skiing!! Finally!
I have been here, just minutes from the slopes for almost 3 months and I finally got to go!
It was an awesome day with soft fresh powder. Not too deep, just right.
I havn't been for almost a year, and as it turns out it is like riding a bike. I wasn't too shabby
I really enjoyed a break from my boys, thanks mom!!

This couple reminded me of me and my Quinn.
I miss you Capt...you are my favorite slopes buddy.
3 weeks from today and this will be us :)

Happy Birthday to ...

ME!
Yeah! I love birthdays! Last year was my worst birthday ever and this year has already been so much better. Yesterday i told my mom that i tried explaining to jack that it was my going to be my birthday tomorrow . The only problem was that it wasn't going to be very exciting as there weren't any wrapped gifts for him to see me open (just a box sent from Quinn) and we weren't going to have cake with candles until sunday dinner with the family. So, she got me a wonderfully thoughtful gift: she helped jack wrap a mini cake and candles for me to open this morning, so nice huh?

"Here let me smoosh your cake for you, mommmy"Then Quinn got me the best gift!
No not the new boots (although i super love them and can't wait to go snowshoeing in them).
He wrote me an email that said, "Babe!!! The scrap book thing you sent is AWESOME!!!!! I love it! That is way cool, one of the best gifts ever. I will take it with me to work all the time now."
I made him an 8X8 story book/scrapbook about a day in the life of our boys with lots of pictures of them taken since he left. I am so glad he likes it (one of the best gifts ever?!?)

Now i am looking forward to 'Jump on it' with the kids today then dinner (Pizzeria 712) and a movie (Taken!!) with my sisters and mom tonight! Yeah!

p.s. thanks to Brent for babysitting during dinner and Pierce for babysitting during the movie, you guys make it all possible!

You will not believe how much time and work went into getting this picture. Chase has been sticking his tongue out like this for some time now and it is so cute. I think he does it to feel his teeth that are coming in. Even though he does it all the time he one does it for a second or two each time he does it. I have taken like 50 and just missed it every time. So, here it is: the cute little tongue.

He tried so hard to reach the gingerbread houses!

Are those 2 little cousin snow bunnies cute or what?

He would spend most of his waking hours here if I would let him!
(too bad he doesn't eat any food while he is there!)

Ride em cowboy vacuum!

I don't know how to turn this the right way, sorry!

You can't be kidding me...

Mark is usually a pretty manly guy but let me give a little background. When we were in high school mark got a mysterious pair of pants mixed in with his clean laundry (mom would return all our clothes to us neatly folded and sorted, Thanks Mom!) So, he decided to try them on, thinking they were my dad's. They fit but felt really funny, when he checked they size they said, "8". He was quite confused by this mysterious single digit number and used deductive reasoning to find they were mine. I have never heard the end of him fitting into my jeans.

Just the other day at dinner Mark said, "San, what if I still fit into your pants?" "I might have to kill myself." I replied, "No, you would have to kill yourself, I'm skinny now so that would mean you are too skinny for a guy!" Of course at this point he asked to try them on. I got him my big jeans, the ones I wore when I was pregnant last time. Of course he fit! We all had a good laugh, he teased me and then I proclaimed that those were actually my big jeans. He wanted the real ones, I was sure they wouldn't fit and then:

Look at that butt!! It was amazing, even a picture can't properly show just how tight those puppies were.

So, heres to you Mark. For fitting in a size 4 pair of womens jeans. You've still got your girlish figure. Lets try again in another 10 years.

A compairison photo, this is what he normally looks like...much better I think.

Just part of Winter...

One thing I don't like about winter: I can't help but let my kids watch more TV! I sure miss all the warm days of summer (not really the unbearably hot ones in AZ so much) when the kids can run and play outside for hours. Ah well, at least there are Christmas specials on the tube, I can finally wear jeans with out boiling, and ski season is right around the corner!
